The Wayne County Office of the Sheriff reports the arrest of two Village of Newark residents, after a reported violation of a Wayne County Family Court Order of Protection.
August L. Storrs, 34, of Newark was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child, and criminal contempt in the first degree. Also arrested was Bree E. Sergeant, 25, of Newark, for endangering the welfare of a child. An investigation was initiated by Wayne County Child Protective Services, regarding incidents that occurred from October 2016 to February 2017. It is alleged that Sergeant had her minor child in her home for visitation, while Storrs was there as well. There is a stay away order of protection issued out of Wayne County Family Court that states that August is to stay away from that minor child. It was reported be a third party that the minor child was at the residence of Sergeant on several occasions while Storrs was present. This is a violation of the order. Storrs and Sergeant were both arraigned in front of the Honorable Judge Williams in the Town of Arcadia Court. Storrs was remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $5,000.00 cash or $10,000.00 insurance bond. Sergeant was released to reappear at a later date to answer the charges.
